What's New!
-
A solo diatonic autoharp CD, of English and Scottish country
dance tunes, plus two of my own in those genres, is on the way. Watch
this spot!
-
If you are looking for the MIDI files to "Upon Christ
Church Bells of Oxford" in Autoharp Quarterly, click
here.
-
An autoharp book, about choosing great melody chords, is in
process, to be released in 2013. Again, watch this spot!
-
My new hammered dulcimer CD is now available! Click
here to find out all about it and order your copy today!
-
Residents of and visitors to San Francisco can hear my
dulcimer playing throughout a 23-minute film titled "Oasis: Discovering

Another YouTube link came to my attention. Click

I am cover girl for the fall 2010 issue of Autoharp
Quarterly!
This is the result of winning the two major autoharp competitions in the
US in 2010! (See next two entries.) The autoharps in my arms
were won at the Mountain Laurel Autoharp Championship, Newport PA (L for
1995 by Dr. George Orthey, R for 2010 by Tom Fladmark). The autoharps
on the ground are for the International Autoharp Championship in Winfield KS
(L for 1995 by Dr. George Orthey, R for 2010 by Pete d'Aigle). Cropped
from the photo is a third autoharp set sideways on the ground for the 2003
International Championship (also by Dr. George Orthey). My original
plan for the photo shoot was to hold all five in my lap like a deck of
cards, but as you can see, two are more than enough! Inside this issue
is an interview of yours truly by Gregg Averett, alongside my column for
diatonic autoharp, "The Diatonic Corner," which has been going
since 2002. You can click on the image above to reach the Autoharp
Quarterly web site and subscribe to read about all things autoharp!
- Our guest room makes it possible to host extended-stay B&B lessons at
home! Contest coaching is also available (I coached the 2008 and 2009
MLAG Champions to victory. Next year it could be you.) Click here for
info.
- The Ouch page, devoted to musician's injuries for
hammered dulcimer and autoharp especially, continues to be updated as more
information comes to the fore. Don't hurt while you play (no pain is
the higher gain); get
solutions here!
- Check out the ergonomically friendly hammers
in The Marketplace. Dulcimer hammers always need to be an extension of
the player, and so it's important that the handles especially are shaped in a way to
encourage this (not all are). Take a
look now.
- If you're on Shadrach Productions'
mailing list (you are from the time you sign up or order something until you move and don't say so, or you die), has YOUR snail address changed? Update
your information here. And is your e-mail address listed as
well? Or has that e-dress changed? Help me keep all of these items
current. I do like to stay in touch from time to time, and your
email address will never be distributed or sold to third parties..
My best to you,
Lucille
